And like that, my first female love in television series is… gone. God, it feels like I’ve lost my best friend. The no-nonsense person who’s always got my back. Sandra Oh! You are brilliant. Not just because you’re my namesake (Yup. I believe Sandra’s rock worldwide. Our names do not mean the freaking defender of mankind for nothing duh! Lol), but because you made me fall totally in love with a beautiful character who became totally real to me. I mean, just in case you haven’t figured it yet, I LOVE CHRISTINA YANG!!!
Okay. On to the finale. We do the farewell to Christina. Which left me in tears of course :(. Owen is devastated, as is to be expected. He did say he will never love another woman like her. And let’s be honest, Christina Yang is a woman that is not easily forgotten. Bailey is setting herself up for disappointment, especially when you discover that Christina transferred her seat on the board and her shares in the hospital to Alex. Yeah, it’s her own way of keeping him around, and having Meredith keep an eye on him, but Bailey is over there thinking that the hospital recognizes her and is about to reward her with Christina’s free seat, whilst Christina has already done the handover, legally to Alex. Bailey is going to flip. Her students are surpassing her and it’s going to rankle. I mean she just got over Christina getting nominated for the Harper Avery before her and now she has to deal with this? This is definitely going to be a lot of drama and we know Grey likes to give us drama. Drama Drama Drama. I am so interested in seeing how this plays out. Poor Bailey. I shouldn’t be looking forward to this as much as I am. Anyway, Bailey and Alex’s drama is coming our way, Jackson and April’s baby is going strong and I’m thrilled that April and Catherine are getting along now. Hopefully, the baby showing up will help some more. Speaking of babies, and Catherine, Richard is up for the surprise of his life. The new head of Cardio thoracic surgery, Dr. Annoying Pierce (I’m sorry. I’m pissed. She is replacing Christina in Cardio. I’m trying to deal with that) is Ellis Grey and Richard Webber’s daughter. That is the expression that viewers and Richard had in that scene. Why the hell will Shonda bring some new chick into the mix, making her Ellis Grey’s daughter. I mean, are we going to do this whole she’s Meredith’s sister, and she’s goofy and fun, let’s like her and who knows she might be the new Lexie in Meredith’s life? Because Hell No! That is so not happening. We are team Lexie. No other sister but Lexie. We are not falling in love with another Grey. Hear that Shonda? Take this new chick away from here. If you want to write in a new sis, bring Lexie back from the dead! If not, not interested.
Oh, and there is trouble in paradise. Christina reminded Meredith of who she is and why she should take her dreams as being as important as Derek. Which, Derek doesn’t agree to. Looks like even more drama. Let’s see if Shonda can make all the new drama interesting enough for us to continue loving Grey’s even without Christina. But as a sendforth, here’s Christina in all her awesome glory:
And that’s a wrap. Christina Yang is an inspiration. She’s smart, passionate, beautiful, strong, brilliant, capable, resilient. She’s a single malt scotch and is one character I will always admire and strive to be like. Goodbye Christina. Here’s hoping you continue to blaze forth.
